Purpose
- The primary role of this position is to work with the MD and the Board to take up the selected expansion and diversification business opportunities and bring them to operational profitability that will ensure that KPSI continues to meet its vision and mission into the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES |
- Scale up cocoa buying and selling to reach trading profitability through volume and quality
- Work with technical experts and using recent research bring cocoa butter and other value-add products into production and profitable sales
- Build the human resource through considered identification of needs, recruitment and capacity building
- Encourage and demonstration innovation and adaptability in operations, logistics and management to bring about new ways of working to improve business functions
- Work with MD to examine other donor funded opportunities, interact with potential donors and develop suitable grant applications
- Liaise with all donors who currently or potentially support KPSI activities
- Oversee all reporting to donors to meet their criteria in a timely manner
- Where new activities are taking place, collaborate with the MD and KPSI leaders in the allocations and distribution of roles, tasks and priorities that ensure smooth operations and management in the warehouse and administrative functions
- Pursue all international marketing opportunities for all KPSI products, including, but not limited to: packaged and bulk oil products, cocoa and cocoa based products, coconuts and coconut products
- Collaborate with CTC and KPSI leadership to establish resources that build capacity and sustainability in farmers and producers of all village based products
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS |
Demonstrated management and administration skills
A verifiable history in financial management
Grant writing and donor interaction experience that will meet current and potential donor standards
An understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of the Pacific business environment
Minimum of Under Graduate degree in development, management, finance or related subject. Master’s degree preferred
